Why are we building MAIA?
Most people do not want a map. They want an answer. GIS is powerful, but it was built for people who make and interpret maps. We know that world well. Everyone else has "where" questions too, and answering them should not require GIS expertise.
A chat box on GIS is a faster horse. We are building the racecar. MAIA combines an expressive LLM with a world model, purpose-built agents, and inspectable methods to answer detailed spatial questions quickly and rigorously. Every part of the system is tuned to make tokens work harder on "where" questions.

Meet our co-founders
Andrew and Chris have been best friends since they were five and are lucky enough to be building their dream company together. They want MAIA to feel like a rocket ship and a community at once: a place where extraordinary people pursue enormous ambitions, are unreasonably good to each other, and genuinely enjoy the ride.
